Sarbanes-Oxley Act
The Sarbanes-Oxley Act was a major reform package established in 2002 to help decrease financial scandals among businesses. The Sarbanes-Oxley Act prohibits all public accounting firms from providing audit clients, certain nonaudit services, including internal audit outsourcing, financial-information-system design and implementation services and expert services. Sarbanes-Oxley Act also defines rules and regulations for what financial documents companies need to keep and for how long.
The Sarbanes-Oxley Act has sent business world into an uproar. Becoming Sarbanes-Oxley act compliant is much easier said than done. Fortunately, there are lots of software and services available to help businesses to become Sarbanes-Oxley Act compliance.
