The Magnificent Mile
North Michigan Avenue is truly a "Magnificent Mile," boasting the very latest in fashions and accessories. From the Water Tower Place Mall and Bloomingdale’s (at the 900 North Michigan Avenue Shops) to Saks Fifth Avenue (in Chicago Place) and hundreds of shops and boutiques in between, world-class shopping awaits!

This up-scale shopping district continues to grow. Famous stores include Neiman Marcus, Chanel, Mark Shale, Timberland, Bally of Switzerland, Hanig's Footwear, Tiffany & Co., Bvlgari, Virgin Megastore and a countless mixture of other distinguished shops.

State Street

State Street, located in the "Loop" - a distinct area of downtown Chicago surrounded by elevated train tracks is known for its hustle and bustle as one of the world's most famous shopping districts. The flagship Marshall Field's department store is located at 111 North State Street and its nine floors of designer clothing and merchandise are waiting to be discovered.

Marshall Field's also boasts a new Visitor Center, which offers a variety of concierge services. Located on the renovated 7th Floor, the Visitor Center is joined by a Marshall Field's Archive, the renovated Walnut Room restaurant and new Frango Café.

Just down the street from Field's, on the corner of Madison and State Streets, is the flagship Carson Pirie Scott department store. Shoppers can experience the timeless exterior and architecture of the store, designed by Louis Sullivan in 1904, and browse through seven floors of fashion and home offerings.

The discount district is also part of the State Street family, including TJ Maxx, Filene's Basement, Payless Shoe Source, and electronic stores where shoppers can bargain for the best prices.

Many other renowned specialty shops have made their homes on State Street, including art galleries, jewelers, shoe stores, leather stores, museum stores and novelty shops.

Oak Street
More than 70 exclusive boutiques and salons, featuring the latest fashions from Paris, London and Milan, line Oak Street, which is located just off of the Magnificent Mile. Prestigious designers such as Giorgio Armani, Hino & Malee, Sonia Rykiel and Ultimo are waiting to be discovered on Oak Street.

Continuing down Oak Street's tree-lined sidewalks are numerous specialty shops including the Marilyn Miglin Institute, Lester Lampert, Inc., and the Alaska Shop Gallery of Eskimo Art.

River North
The River North neighborhood is a mecca of art, design and fashion. The newly gentrified neighborhood is located on the north bank of the Chicago River just west of Michigan Avenue. River North features loft buildings that house art galleries, auction houses, antique dealers, jewelers and clothing boutiques.

The Merchandise Mart, located in the southern part of the River North neighborhood, contains a veritable marketplace for art, apparel, accessories and design. "The Shops At The Mart," located on the first two floors of the Merchandise Mart, houses an 80-store retail complex featuring Carson Pirie Scott, The Coach Store, The Gap and The Limited, as well as a variety of other shops and restaurants. -->
